Quezaltepeque players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American center Marc Montavious (206-1990, college: Georgetown, KY) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) supported him with 13 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 blocks. Four Quezaltepeque players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 31 points and 13 rebounds by American swingman Andravious Smith (198-1995, college: Tougaloo) did not help to save the game for Cojute. American-Puerto Rican forward Jordan Glover (201-1996, college: TCNJ) added 19 points for the hosts.

Nejapa - Aguila 74-98

Aguila dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Nejapa's 36. Aguila forced 20 Nejapa turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Brenden Van Dyke (203-1998, college: Emporia St.) who scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. Panamanian forward Pablo Rivas (198-1994, college: NCCU) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Worth to mention Rivas played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Five Aguila players scored in double figures. Aguila's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Kylon Higgins (190-1993, college: Arkansas Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Brandon OBrien (201-1990, college: Clark Atlanta) added 25 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts.

Brujos - Santa Tecla 78-80

Santa Tecla forced 22 Brujos turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Santa Tecla made 18 blocks. American Cameron Lard (206-1997, college: Iowa St.) had a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 10 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Christopher Blake (195-1988, college: Detroit) chipped in 21 points during the contest. American forward Arinze Obiora (196-1997, college: UMass Dartmouth) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 19 rebounds and 5 blocks and Joshua Quincy scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.

The best player for the winners was Dominican forward Jean Quezada who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists. Dominican Bernardo Polanco (189-1994) chipped in 30 points. Puerto Rican Xavier Zambrana (193-1991) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-1983, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) added 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
